BioBorn in the Middle East, J.D. Night Mhal el' Osama Ghobhadi is a mixed-ethnic Iraqi Kurd refugee, a former ''child soldier'', or ''child of war'', who fought to survive on the Iraq-Turkish border for nearly three years. Since immigrating to the United States in late 2006, J.D. has fully dedicated her life to films and theatre such as acting, costume design, screenwriting, etc. First viewing the anime series of R.O.D. (Read or Die) in the year 2005 during a special television broadcasting in a refugee camp, she began researching and collaborating on a film adaptation of the series, which has spanned into two scripts, and thus has written several other screenplays--both adapted and original.
